Ever since I was a young
girl, I was convinced that I would become a fine artist.
My career as a visual artist began in my youth with
my first commissions.
Born and raised in Styria (Austria), I have lived
among horses and dogs my entire life. This put me in
close contact with them and throughout my childhood
my passions were horses, dogs and wildlife - and painting
horses, dogs and wildlife!
Altough I pursued a career in Graphics Design I continued
to create Fine Art and today I work as a full time Equine,
Canine & Wildlife Artist.
I found and still find my inspiration in the poetry
of everday life, in my love for the wonderful nature
and every creature that lives in it. |

Since I live near Piber
(Federal Stud Piber, Austria, Europe), where the famous
Lipizzans are bred for the Spanish Riding School in
Vienna, painting scenes of horses is especially appealing
to me as a self-taught Austrian artist.
Horses are - like dogs - such a wonderful and challenging
motive to paint and sculpt. I never tire of painting
and sculpting them - each has its own unique character,
and transferring those characters to finest linen
or capturing it in bronze is my true dedication.
I visit the stud farm in Piber often and have been
to the stud farm of Lipica (Slovenia) several times
too. I enjoy studying these wonderful horses, sketching
them and finally making them come alive on linen-canvas.
I also draw on my experiences of riding and caring
for horses to accurately portray them in their environment.
My reference sojourns
take me to various locations in Austria
and Germany, England, the United States and Canada.

THE
PAINTING STYLE
|
The classic elegance of my painting style
and the portrayal of mood and atmosphere are important
elements of my work.
Luminous paintings where achieved by building up
glazes of subdued, elegant colors.
Oil paint is my medium of choice for its richness, depth
and variety of colors it can produce. Other mediums
I utilize are acrylic, charcoal and pastel.
